WashConnect allows site owners and operators the ability to create wash tickets that can be redeemed at a later date and time. From a reporting perspective, the value of these tickets are shown at the time of ticket generation and then paid for when redeemed. WashConnect calls this process Ticket Generation.
Who needs these instructions?
Sites that would like to generate ticket numbers that can be entered on-site at a later time.
Examples:
1. Creating $5 off codes for promotional flyers.
2. Creating $0 codes for a wash service that will be given out at the business owners discretion.
Configuring PLU for Ticket Generation
ICS recommends using corporate level PLU’s for this process as this will allow the codes to be generated from an ICS WashConnect Container Application, as well as allowing those codes to be utilized across multiple locations.
- Log in WashConnect at Corporate.
- Select Configuration > Goods and Services > Sales Items
- If the Sales Item and Discount has already been created, then please note the PLU & Name of the items as we will need this for the next step.
-
- If the Sales Item has not been created, see Add Sales Items.
- If the Discount has not been created, see Discount Coupon.
-
- If the Sales Item has been made, but the price needs to be different, create a Discount that accounts for the price difference, then create a Package that pairs that discount with the desired Sales Item.
Generating Tickets
After the Sales Item and/or Discount is created, tickets for this item can be generated.
- Log in WashConnect at Corporate.
- Select TouchPOS > Ticket Generation (if at Corporate)
- If logged in at the local site level, select TouchPOS > Open Shift.
- Start the Ticket Generation process by clicking the TicketGen button.
- Select the wash for the wash codes tickets.
- Click the Generate button.
- In the Type of Ticket, select 6-digit.
NOTE: You cannot create site level only wash codes from Corporate. The 5-digit wash codes can only be generated at the site level and can only be redeemed at the site they were generated at. - Check the Random Ticket box to force the system to use non-sequential ticket numbers.
- If Random Ticket box is clear, beginning with the Starting Ticket Number value ticket #1, then ticket #2 will be exactly 1 number larger than it.
- Example: Ticket #1 is 100001, ticket #2 is 100002
- In the Ticket Status box, select Unpaid if necessary.
NOTE: You can only create Paid wash code tickets at the local site level as there is no POS cash drawer at Corporate. - In the How Many Tickets box, type in the total number of wash codes to generate.
NOTE: if you have never made a ticket for this item previously, generate only 1 ticket and confirm the desired result before generating additional tickets. - In the Number of Days Ticket is Valid For box, type in the amount of days that the wash codes will be redeemable. Default is 30 days. Maximum amount of time is 999 days.
- Confirm the receipt on the screen displays the wash/discount options chosen.
- Click the Generate Tickets button.
- Confirm the "Are you sure you want to generate # Sequential or Random Tickets which will expire after # days?" message matches the numbers we defined in the previous steps.
- Click Yes.
- If you receive the "Tickets successfully generated" message, click OK.
- From the File Download dialog box, click the Save button.
- From the Save As dialog box, type a file name, and then save the file with the format type: Excel Comma Separated Value
