Accompanied with this letter is a recovery flash drive for your Auto Sentry or Touch IT (Input Terminal). It will be necessary to contact ICS Support to perform the update (800-246-3469).
Please set aside an hour per device to perform the upgrade. It will be necessary to have a USB keyboard and the provided flash drive available for the process. We recommend choosing a low volume time of day to f lash the hard drive of the Auto Sentry or Touch IT.

WARNING: This process is done while the Auto Sentry is powered on.
Please be aware that you will be working around active 120VAC wiring during this procedure. Please avoid direct contact with these connections.
Instructions to Shut Down Windows for the Touch IT or the Auto Sentry
WARNING: Failure to turn off the Auto Sentry increases the risk of serious bodily injury or death; and also, causes the credit card reader to go into a tamper state and it will have to be replaced.
Using a recovery flash drive to reimage the hard drive.
- Insert the recovery flash drive into any available USB port on the right side of the Touch IT or the Auto Sentry motherboard to be reimaged. See Figure 1 and Figure 2.
- On the site server desktop, click on the VNC icon for the Auto Sentry.
- On the menu bar, click the Windows flag icon.
- From the Windows menu, select the Shutdown icon.
- Wait until the Auto Sentry display goes to a white screen.
- Open the rear doors of the Auto Sentry.
- When a Windows message appears, “It is safe to shut down your computer”:
- For the Auto Sentry: Turn off the AC power button.
- For the Touch IT: Turn off the breaker to the power supply for the Touch IT in the Touch IT power box or the stainless steel enclosure that the Touch IT may be mounted in.
- Plug in the USB keyboard in any open USB port.
- Power on the device:
- For the Auto Sentry: Turn on the AC power button that was previously turned off.
- For the Touch IT: Power on the breaker to the power supply for the Touch IT that you previously turned off.
- While booting up the system, press the DEL key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS. If the Auto Sentry or Touch IT goes to a Windows desktop, you did not press the DEL key at the correct time, return to STEP #3.
- The BIOS screen appears, select Classic Mode.
- Use the arrow keys to select the BOOT tab.
NOTE: In BIOS, use the keyboard arrow keys and the Enter key. - Under Boot Configuration, use the keyboard arrow keys, and scroll down to USB Boot, press the Enter key to select. Scroll to Enable, and then press the Enter key.
- Under Boot Configuration, scroll down to Boot USB Devices First, and press the Enter Key.
- With the arrow keys, select Enable.
- Under Boot Configuration, scroll down to UEFI USB, and press the Enter Key.
- Press the F10 key.
- When the message “Save configuration changes and exit setup?” appears, select Yes.
- Upon boot, select CloneZilla live and press the Enter key.
- A warning appears “ The existing data in this hard disk/partition(s) will be overwritten! All existing Data will be lost.” If you made the required backups, press the Y key to continue.
- The message “Save Configuration changes and exit setup?” appears. Press the ‘Y’ key to confirm.
- The image will take 10 to 15 minutes to restore.
- When the entire process is complete, select the Poweroff option.
- When the message, “Please remove the disc, close the tray (if any) and depress ENTER to continue” appears, press the Enter key.
- Physically turn off the AC power button for the Auto Sentry or the breaker for the Touch IT.
- Contact ICS technical support to reinstall the necessary ICS software and restore the appropriate backups.
