Auto Sentry eXP First Data ID Tech Cash Plate

WARNING: Please have a certified electrician check voltages on the power supply before installing
new components. The voltage should be 24 volts.
Instructions to Power Down the Auto Sentry® eXP
WARNING: Failure to turn off the Auto Sentry eXP increases the risk of serious bodily injury or death.
1. On the site server desktop, click on the VNC icon for the Auto Sentry eXP.
2. On the menu bar, click the Windows flag icon.
3. Click the Shutdown button.
4. Wait until the Auto Sentry eXP display goes to a white screen.
5. Open the rear doors of the Auto Sentry eXP.
6. Turn off the power switch inside left door of the Auto Sentry eXP.
7. Turn off the breaker inside the left door of the Auto Sentry eXP by pressing the blue button on the
breaker until it clicks out.
8. Shut off the electricity to the Auto Sentry by turning off the Auto Sentry eXP breaker inside the ICS®
power distribution box.
Installation
- After powering down the Auto Sentry eXP, open the right door on the Auto Sentry eXP.
- Remove the (6) 3/8” nuts on the screw studs holding the front plastic panel to the door.
- Disconnect the cable to the card reader by disconnecting the cable that goes to the card reader. This cable can be discarded as it won’t be used again.
- Remove the cables to the coin acceptor and set aside as they will be used again.
- Make note of which COM connector on the COM bracket that the coin acceptor COM cable goes to.
- Separate the COM connector for the coin acceptor from the COM bracket, and remove the inner COM connector from the bracket and attach it to the COM cable from the coin acceptor.
- Unplug the power and COM cables from the bill acceptor and set aside as they will be used again.
NOTE: Make a note on the COM connector on the COM bracket that the bill acceptor COM cable goes to. - Separate the COM connector for the bill acceptor from the COM bracket, and then remove the inner
COM connector from the bracket and attach it to the COM cable from the bill acceptor. - Unfasten the (4) 11/32” nuts holding the bill acceptor, and then remove it from the door on the right. Set the bill acceptor aside as it will be used again.
- Unfasten the (2) screws holding the nosepiece to the front of the door, and then unfasten the
(4) 5/16” screws, removing the coin acceptor from the door on the right. Set it aside as it will be
used again. - Unfasten the (6) 3/8” nuts on screw studs, one in each corner of the cash plate, one at top in the
middle and one at the bottom of the middle of plate, and then remove the cash plate. - Remove the COM bracket from the unit.
Install the Cash Plate
- Attach the cash plate assembly to the inside of the right door, securing with the (4) nuts that were
removed previously when the cash plate was taken out. - Looking at the back of the door, the new card reader should be at the rear left-corner of the
cash plate.- - Run the USB data cable from the card reader and route it into the right side of the unit,
through the opening in the center wall to the left, and then run it along the top of the
left side compartment to the motherboard, and attach it to any available USB port on the
motherboard. Secure the USB cable to the other wires along the way with several wire ties. - There may be an available 24V+ and 24V- set of connections on the inside of the right door.
It would be an orange and black pair of wires with pink quick connects on the ends.
- If you have these connections, find the orange and black wires attached to the power
cable for the card reader. Separate the quick connects holding the orange and black
wires to the red and black wires from the card reader. Discard the orange and black
wires. Attach the quick connects on the red and black wires to the orange and black
wires with quick connects in the unit. - If you do not have the 24V orange and black wires available in the right side, then leave
the orange and black wires attached to the card reader and route them into the right
side of the unit and attach them to the terminal blocks. The 24V- black wire will go to
any available yellow/green ground terminal block, and the 24V+ orange wire will go to
any available orange terminal block.
- If you have these connections, find the orange and black wires attached to the power
- Take the yellow/green flat cable attached to the screw in the corner of the card reader and
route that cable into the right side of the unit. Attach the terminal at the end of the cable to
any available yellow/green ground terminal block. - Re-install the bill acceptor. Attach to the (4) standoffs provided on the cash plate. Secure in place
with (4) - 11/32” nuts removed when taking it out previously. Reconnect the power and COM
cables that you removed earlier and set aside. - Before re-installing the coin acceptor, cut out the two small holes, one on either side of the
bottom coin slot for the attachment of the nosepiece removed earlier. - Re-install the coin acceptor using the 4 nuts removed when taking off the coin acceptor from the
old plate. Then reattach the nosepiece to the front using the 2 screws removed when taking out
the nosepiece. Reconnect the power and COM cables disconnected before. - Neatly route all wires and secure in place with the other wires inside the unit with wire ties.
- Reattach the plastic to the front of the right door with the nuts removed previously to take
off the plastic.
Powering On the Wash Valet eXP
- Reconnect the power to the ICS power distribution box by turning on the Wash Valet eXP breaker
inside the ICS power distribution box. - Turn the breaker on inside the Wash Valet eXP by pressing the blue button on the breaker until it
clicks in. - Inside the left door of the Wash Valet eXP, turn on the power switch to boot the system.
