Instructions for Bezel 8 Card Reader

Auto Sentry Conversion to the Bezel Credit Card Reader

Tools Required

Prior to performing this procedure you will need to have the following tools:

• Small, sharp knife
• 3/8” nut driver or ratchet
• 11/32” nut driver or ratchet

Time to Completion

We estimate that it will take 2 hours to perform this procedure, time will vary based on skill set.

NOTE: Keep all hardware organized as you work.

Parts Included

Powering off the Auto Sentry flex

WARNING: Failure to turn off the Auto Sentry increases the risk of serious bodily injury or death; and also, causes the credit card reader to go into a tamper state and it will have to be replaced.

1. On the site server desktop, click on the VNC icon for the Auto Sentry flex.
2. On the menu bar, click the Windows flag icon.
3. Click the Shutdown button.
4. Wait until the Auto Sentry flex display goes to a white screen.
5. Using the hex key, open the rear doors of the Auto Sentry flex.
6. Turn off the power switch inside the Auto Sentry.
7. Turn off both breakers inside the Auto Sentry by pressing the blue buttons on the breakers until they click out.
8. Shut off the electricity to the Auto Sentry by turning off the Auto Sentry breaker inside the ICS® power distribution box.
9. Unplug the cables from the bill dispenser.
10. Unbolt the bill dispenser from the tray.
11. Remove the bill dispenser.
12. Unscrew any cable clamps holding the bill dispenser cables to the drawer and remove the cables from the drawer and bill dispenser.
13. Unbolt the bill dispenser from the tray in the base of the Auto Sentry flex, and remove the bill dispenser. 

Remove the Card Reader

1. Remove the face plastic piece from the front of the Auto Sentry.
2. Remove the decal from the front of the Auto Sentry.
3. Remove the old credit card reader.
4. Remove the contactless card reader.
5. Knock out the plate for the keypad using a hammer.
   
   
   
   
6. Install the blocker plate where the old card reader was, using the hardware provided.
7. Install the adapter plate in the where the keypad plate was, using the hardware provided.
   
   
   
   
8. Install the new decal. Use a sharp knife to cut out any holes where cables or screws will go through the decal.
9. Install the card reader in the adapter plate. Attach the ethernet end of the data cable to the card reader as shown below.
   
   
   
   
10. Route the DB9 end of the data cable to the motherboard and connect to the COM1 port.
    
    
    
    
11. Connect the coaxial end of the power cable to the DB9 connector on the data cable. Route the white plastic connector end of the power cable to any available power connection on the main power harness.
    
    
    
    
12. Attach the new decal provided. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut out the opening behind the card reader where the data cable connects and the screw holes to attach the card reader to the front of the Auto Sentry.
13. Cut out any other openings or screw holes for any other devices. 
14. Replace the face plastic piece to the front of the Auto Sentry.

Powering On the Auto Sentry

1. Reconnect the power to the ICS power distribution box by turning on the Auto Sentry breaker inside the ICS power distribution box.
2. Turn the breakers on inside the Auto Sentry flex by pressing the blue buttons on the breakers until they click in.
3. Inside the Auto Sentry flex, turn on the power switch to boot the system.
