-
- If the reader is having difficulty acquiring a scan of your fingerprint, perform the following.
- Clean the reader with a piece of adhesive cellophane tape.
- Apply the sticky side of the tape on the reader window and peel it away.
- Under heavy usage, the window coating may turn cloudy from the salt in perspiration which will need to be cleaned with a cloth.
- Gently wipe the window with a cloth (not paper) dampened with mild ammonia-based glass cleaner.
- Ensure you are properly touching the reader.
- Place the pad of your finger, not the tip, in the center of the oval window.
- Apply gentle, even pressure.
- Pressing too hard will distort your fingerprint.
- Pressing too lightly will not expose a large enough area of your fingerprint.
- Do not roll your finger.
- Make sure to hold your finger on the reader until you see the reader light blink, then lift your finger.
- This may take longer if the skin is dry.
- Attempt to reregister your fingerprint in WashConnect.
- Clean the reader with a piece of adhesive cellophane tape.
