Please read all instructions before proceeding.
The following instructions are broken into three sections:
Section 1: Clean the Windshield Surface
- Locate a flat surface below the rear-view mirror just below the tint line. From the driver’s seat, the RFID tag should be behind the mirror so that the driver does not see it, if possible.
RFID Tag
NOTES: Windshield tinting may interfere with tag performance. Careful inspection may reveal a cut-out or gap in the tinting where RFD tags are to be placed.
In some applications, the cut-out area is painted black. Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for
more information.
Do not attach to windshields that have a metal component or electrically conductive surfaces or after market sun shields that are metal based. Vehicles with a metal reflective coating such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Acura, and others.
- Prior to application, thoroughly clean windshield surface with isopropyl alcohol or an industrial cleaning solution. Please carefully read all instructions on the cleaning solution bottle.
NOTE: A permanent bond cannot be achieved if grease, oil, wax, moisture, silicone, mold release, or dirt is present on the application surface.
- Allow the surface to completely dry to ensure adequate adhesion.
Section 2: Remove an RFID tag from the Roll
Follow these steps to remove an RFID tag from the roll.
IMPORTANT: Do not touch the exposed adhesive backing of the RFID tag. Be careful not to bend the tag so the electronic chip is not separated from the antenna. Breaking the chip or antenna could result in
significantly diminished read counts or the RFID tag not reading at all.
- Bend paper in half between the RFID Tag and Label.
- INCORRECT! Do NOT pull the RFID tag off from left to right or reverse.
- Roll the backing off the RFID tag by using your thumb to gently remove the tag from bottom to top.
- Hold the Pressure-sensitive RFID tag by the edges with your thumb and index fingers.
Section 3: Apply the RFID tag to the Windshield
IMPORTANT: The RFID tag contains an enhanced chip with tamper-proof technology. If the tag is tampered with or removed from the vehicle’s windshield, the RFID tag will be disabled. The RFID tag needs 24 hours of curing time to affix to the windshield.
- Immediately align the RFID tag horizontally to the inside of the windshield behind the mirror below the tint line.
- Firmly apply thumb pressure over the surface of the RFID Tag to release the excess air to ensure all edges have a secure bond.
TESTING
• RFID Tags can be attached to the non magnetic portion of a credit card for initial setup and testing.
• RFID Tags need to be held in the landscape position while attempting to read the tag.
RFID Label
The label can be affixed to the club contract that the customer signs and then it can be filed for future reference.
