The following are instructions on setting up a PAX S300
Terminal and install the POSLink software. Please read
through all instructions before starting the configuration.
- Click the Menu button.
- From the Main Menu, click to select the 2. Communication button.
- From Main Comm.:1, click to select 1. LAN button.
- From Comm. Options, click to select the LAN Parameters button.
- From the LAN Parameters, click to select 1. LAN Type button.
- From LAN Type:2, click to select the 2.Static button.
- From the LAN Parameters, click to select 2.IP Address button.
- In the IP Address box, type the IP address following the standard of 010.000.000.161, then press the Green button.
- If more than one PAX terminal, increase IP by 1, example 010.000.000.162
- If customer using custom IP address, tech will configure to match customer IP setup.
- If site has more than one PAX terminal or not on standard ICS IP address, the serial number and the IP address assigned to the terminal must be emailed to Support Tier 3 to be changed on First Data's Broad POS system.
- From the LAN Parameters, click to select the 3. Subnet Mask button.
- In Subnet Mask box, type the the subnet mask 255.255.255.000, then press the Green button.
NOTE: You must follow this IP address format.
- From the LAN Parameters, select the down arrow.
This will display a second screen of LAN Parameters. - On the second screen of the LAN Parameters, click to select the 1. Gateway button.
- In the Gateway IP box, type the IP of 010.000.000.253, and then press the Green button.
NOTE: You must follow this format.
- If the site has more than one PAX terminal or not on standard ICS
IP address, the serial number and the IP address assigned to the
terminal must be emailed to Support Tier 3 to be changed on
First Data’s BroadPOS system.
- If the site has more than one PAX terminal or not on standard ICS
- From the LAN Parameters, select the down arrow.
The second screen of LAN Parameters appears - On the second screen of LAN Parameters, click to select 2. DNS IP button.
- In the DNS IP box, type 008.008.008.008, and then press the Green button.
NOTE: You must follow this IP address format.
- From the LAN Parameters screen, press the Red button two times.
This will bring you back to the Main Menu screen.
- From the Main Menu screen, click to select the 1. System Settings button.
- From the System Options, click to select the App Management button.
• When asked for a password, this will be tomorrow’s date. For example, if today’s
date is 10/17/2018, the password would be 12182018.
- If the password does not work, go back to System Settings screen and
check date and time on terminal.- This is done by selecting 3. Date/Time Setup on the System
Options screen. The date displayed will be the password.
- This is done by selecting 3. Date/Time Setup on the System
- On the App Load screen, click to select 1. Activate button.
On the Activate screen, click to select 1. Online button.
NOTE: Activation must be completed before the application will update.
- If successful, Activated will display.
After Activated is displayed, press the Green button.
- From App Load screen, click to select the 2. App Update button.
If the password is required, use same password as before. Processing and downloading should be displayed for a short period of time.
Terminal will restart after the update has completed.
- While the terminal is updating, it may also update the
operating system on the terminal. It will download and
install this update automatically.
Terminal will restart after update is complete.
- Terminal should display PAX with Insert Anytime at the bottom if
configured correctly.

Check the version of Windows and transfer the correct version, either 32
bit(x86) or 64 bit(x64), to the POS that will be using the PAX S300 card
reader.
- Locate the correct POSLink install and double-click to run.
- Select ‘I Agree’ radio button and choose Next.
- On Select Installation Folder screen, choose the Next button.
- On the Confirm Installation screen, choose Next button.
- Wait for the POSLink software to finish installing.
- Once Installation Complete screen is display, click Close.
- Once the terminal is activated and able to connect to WashConnect and
CAGE, the display will show Insert/Tap/Swipe Card/Device.
