Completion Time
Estimated time to complete this procedure is one hour. Keep all hardware organized as you work.
WARNING: Please have a certified electrician check voltages on the power supply before installing
new components. The voltage should be 12 volts.

Removing Hardware
The following steps will instruct you on how to remove the video controller board, the motherboard, and the hard drive.
- Open the back door of the Digital Menu Sign, and identify the location of the motherboard, video
controller board, and power supply.
- Identify the location of the cables that need to be disconnected.
- The DVI cable is connected to the video board controller and motherboard with (2) screws in each
connector. Loosen these screws until the connector comes off of each board. - Use a small flat screwdriver to remove the orange and black board power wires from the Video Board Controller Panel. Remove the backlight control wires by pulling on the connector until it is free from the video control board.
- On the left side of the video board controller panel, using your fingernail to flip upward on the clips
holding the ribbon cables to the back of the display panel.
- Remove all of the 24VDC+ and 24VDC- connections from the power supply. Remove the 12VDC+
and 12VDC- connections for the motherboard. - Remove the network cable from the motherboard.
- Locate the 12V wires just removed from the power supply. Disconnect the other end of that cable from the motherboard and discard it as it will no longer be used.
- Hold the video board control panel (including metal plate) with one hand while removing the (2) screws on the left holding it to the back of the display panel. After you remove the screws, slide the video control board panel to the right and lift out of the sign.
10. Disconnect the (2) cables between the hard drive and the motherboard. Remove the hard drive mounting bracket and the hard drive. Remove the hard drive cables from the motherboard, and discard them as they will no longer be used.
- Remove the motherboard from the sign by removing the (4) screws holding it in place, one in each corner of the board.
IMPORTANT: Return the Motherboard to ICS.
- Remove the 24 VDC power cable to the backlight. Discard this cable. A new cable will replace
the one you are removing.
Installing the Video Control Board
- Install the new 24VDC power cable to the backlight. Note the difference in the number of wires
going to the upper and lower connector sockets on the display. The lower connector has more wires in it. Also, the pigtail for the backlight control wire splits off the cable near the lower connector.
- Locate the replacement Video Control Board Panel.
- While holding the video control board panel in place with one hand, attach the ribbon cables to the
connectors, and then close the clips. Continue to hold the video board control panel while you attach (2) screws that hold the video control board panel to the back of the display panel.
NOTE: The Ribbon Cables are very delicate, please be careful.
- Identify the location of all the cables to be connected.
- Locate the new 12VDC power cable. Connect the green header terminal to the control board. Ensure the screws in the plug are visible on top before plugging it in.
- Connect the backlight control plug to the backlight connector on the left side of the video board.
- Attach the network cable to the video control board.
- Connect the 12V cable to the power supply. Please observe the diagram on the power supply for the proper location of these connections. (12VDC- is wired to 12V COM on the power supply, not 12VDC-.)
- Completed Assembly.
