Instructions for adding motherboard to an ENT1-07, turning it into an ENT1-03. MB170 motherboard

Digital Menu Sign ENT1-07 converting it to an Exit Sign ENT1-03 by adding a motherboard

Tools Required

Prior to performing this procedure you will need to have the following tools:

• Phillips Screw driver
• Time to Completion

We estimate that it will take 15 minutes to perform this procedure, time will vary based on skill set.
NOTE: Keep all hardware organized as you work.

Parts Included

Powering Down the Digital Menu Sign

WARNING: Failure to turn off the Sign increases the risk of serious bodily injury or death.

1. On the site server desktop, click on the VNC icon for the Digital Menu sign.
2. On the menu bar, click the Windows flag icon.
3. Click the Shutdown button.
4. Wait until the Digital Menu Sign’s display goes to a white screen.
5. Open the rear door of the Digital Menu Sign.
6. Turn off both breakers inside the sign by clicking the blue buttons on the breakers until they click
   out.
7. Inside the Digital Menu Sign on the 2-pole breaker for the air conditioner, flip the switch down to
   power off.
8. Shut off the electricity to the Digital Menu Sign by turning the sign’s breaker off inside the ICS
   power distribution box
9. Shut off the electricity to the air conditioner/heat exchanger for the Digital Menu Sign at the site’s
   main electrical service panel.

Installing the Motherboard

1. Attach the new hard drive and hard drive mounting bracket to the upper right corner of the component board using the (4) screws provided to secure each corner of the motherboard. 
2. Disregard the grey cable from motherboard to touch screen control card on right side.
   
   
   
   
3. Install HDMI cable to video control card and motherboard.
   
   
   
   
4. Attach 12V power cable to video control board and power supply. The black 12V- wire goes to 12V COM connection on the power supply.
   
   
   
   
5. Attach 12V power cable to the motherboard.
   
   
   
   
6. Attach the hard drive to the upper right corner of the component bracket with (2) screws provided.
7. Attach SATA power and data cables to the hard drive, then to the motherboard in the upper right corner next to the hard drive.

Powering On the Sign

WARNING: KEEP THE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT IN A VERTICAL POSITION. IF YOU LAY IT DOWN, PLACE IT BACK IN A VERTICAL POSITION FOR 24 HOURS PRIOR TO POWERING IT ON.

1. Turn on the electricity to the Sign by turning on the breaker inside the main service electrical panel.
2. Turn on the electricity to the Sign by turning on the breaker inside the ICS power distribution box.
3. Turn on the breakers inside the Sign by clicking the blue buttons until they click in.
4. On the 2-pole breaker for the air conditioner, flip up the switch to turn on.
5. Close the rear door of the Sign.
